SACAC COMPETITIVE SWIMMING TEAM
Welcome new swimmers and parents of new swimmers! All Fighting Fish home hosted meets (time trials, Santa Claus, Feb Invite, Distance Meet) we swim age as of 01 Jan. Whatever age your child was on 01 Jan 2008, is the age they will swim until next 01 Jan. So if your child is 8 on 01 Jan, but turned 9 on 02 Jan, they will swim as an 8 year old until the next 01 Jan when their "swim age" will age up to 9. Each team runs their meets differently. The All Nations Cup is age as of Nov 1, so your child will register for that meet based on the age they are on 01 Nov. Bangkok is the same - age as of 21 March, 2009. It's all a bit confusing. As long as we have your swimmer's birthdate correct in the system (should have been checked at the Parent Meeting) whatever age group opens on Direct Athletics for each different swim meet will be correct.

Wondering how your swimmer changes squad levels? Coaches assess each swimmer monthly based on overall stroke competence, as well as swim times in different distances (called test sets). Changes will be made at the end of the quarter. Click here to find specific squad level requirements.
The latest weekly udpates can always be found on the weekly update page of this website.
